ZONE B
Ringön is an amalgamation of creativity, craftsmanship and culture, flourishing in its eclectic and dynamic spirit. Once a wetland, Ringön later transformed into a purely industrial zone in Gothenburg. Over time, and more specifically in the waterfront of our zone, enthusiasts of motoring, boating, art, film and music gravitated to the area and these local actors have reshaped this industrial zone into a lively hub of life and innovation. Today, it pulses with life: beer is brewed, coffee is roasted in abundance, and a diverse array of activities from welding and sewing to creating art takes place side by side. Spaces seem to craft their own stories, evolving naturally through the passage of time.

SHIFTING GROUNDS
Julia Lönn
The exploitation and marginalization of the non-human realm continually contribute towards anthropocentric thinking and threaten ecological stability, creating a clear division between human and non-human realms. Ringön with its current strong industrial atmosphere, were once a thriving wetland. This proposal seeks an alternative perspective of the built environment where co-exsistence can emerge even in the harsh environment of this industrial site, blurring the boundaries between human and non-human, reimagining Ringön as a shared habitat.

FLUID FLOWS
Albina Lampa
Ringön is reimagined as an elevated urban landscape that evolves with the rising waters. The project proposes a pedestrian path and park system as a starting point for the gradual transformation of the site. Through the reuse of existing structures as foundation for the new landscape, current ground-level functions are perserved while offering a clean slate for a sustainable future above ground. This new urban landscape will move beyond human centered planning, fostering innovative solutions and coexistence, which aligns with Ringön‘s spirit of creativity and inclusivity.

THE BIRD TOWER
JASMIN ABARKAN
Standing 20 meters tall, the tower is composed of two distinct structures. The inner structure is designed for human use and interaction, while the outer structure provides a protective skin“ for bird nesting. Divided into levels that cater to different bird species based on their preferences and behaviors, the project demonstrates a deep understanding of ecological needs. Furthermore, it engages the local community through workshops, conservation efforts, and interactive activities, ensuring that it serves as both a habitat and a center for environmental education. Its adaptable prototype design allows the tower to be implemented in various contexts, making it a model for ecological and architectural innovation.
